i wish i and the nbc , we share a common dislike for Olamide’s music, (although I’m a fan of Hip-Hop music, I like my raps to come with thoughtful lines, eye-opening metaphors and smooth-edged rhymes like that of Kanye West or J.Cole not the soft-sell content of a lot of Olamide’s songs) but regardless, I wouldn’t place a ban on Olamide’s ‘Science Student’ or deem it unfit for broadcast, even if I had the authority to.
Because I needed to review ‘Science Student’, I listened to the song for 4 straight days and even after I heard about the NBC ban, I listened twice as many times, but I still do not understand how the song “promotes and encourages drug abuse.” I doubt that NBC officials took their time to listen to it and even if they did, the ban was without any weight because it came after the song had become an anthem, placed on replay on mobile devices across the country (I guess, NBC officials deserves a raise for the perfect timing of the ban).

Jokes apart, Olamide asked questions of the act of drug abuse that has become the “code of the cool” amongst Nigerian youths. Lines like “ozone layer ti be, asiri tu/Eruku ti poju”, are caution words directed at drug abusers. Except one doesn’t understand Yoruba language, which I suspect was the case for NBC officials, ‘Science Student’ has a moral tone that spells out the consequences of drug abuse. Olamide’s attempt to shoo away perpetrators of the act of abusing drugs, with ‘Science Student’, is however marred by his choice of words and use of drug-related terms, in a case of good intention, bad decision.

NBC, Mr Don Pedro Obaseki and co., really need to chill, the act of abusing drugs was already an epidemic before the release of ‘Science Student’ and someone needed to say (sing) about it, so Olamide did, well, with a lot of jests but isn’t there a saying that “if you are going to tell people the truth, be funny or they’ll kill you.”
In the positioo approach the subject like NAFDAC DG. I do not expect him to promise an era of fire and brimstone to ‘Science Students.’ I expect him to be subtle, tolerant and yet deliberate about his advocacy against drug abuse, if he would be heard at all, just like he did on ‘science student’ how then would he influence the public when no one is listening to his songs?
Hounding an artiste like Olamide or carelessly hammering down his songs takes away the advantage that his mn that Olamide is, a pop star, whose music success is directly tied to his influence, I wouldn’t expect him tusic can play in the society especially when ‘the law’ is an item to lol at. To make clear, the impact of Olamide’s music and the opportunity given away to the NBC ban, I’d share my experience with a young chap I met during one of my tea dates at ICM.
The  Story:
Tchalla (code name) walked up to my table saying, “I want to rap for you.” I asked him to repeat himself, he said, “I want to rap for you.” Then he goes free styling about my cup of tea, about my friend’s bag and the lady sitting next to us, heavily engulfed in her chat with God knows who and on and on and on. While we both enjoyed the freestyle, my friend thanked him and politely dismissed him but I was led to invite him to the table. I asked him if he is in school, he said “yes”. I told me he is in SS2 and he came all the way from Ogun State to perform at a show in Lagos, and while he was waiting for the performance later in the night, he decided to show off his rapping skills with the hope that he can make a few bucks from his patronisers. Then I paused and asked him to tell me what he really wants, (I was expecting him to say money), he said, ‘I just want to blow.’ This threw me off balance, this kid just passed a chance to make a couple of hundreds of Naira to tell a stranger who probably can do nothing, about his dream of becoming a successful rapper. The next thing I asked him was ‘who inspires you?’, he didn’t think twice before mentioning his biggest influence – Olamide. He went on talking about how he listens to Olamide’s music about hustle and the happenings in the streets, and how it inspires him to want to do the same with his life. He talked about ‘Science Student’ and how it projects the reality in the streets and how he is scared of violence and drugs because of the things he has heard Olamide say about them.

Kiss Daniel has launched a search for the fan who returned his 14 million Nai
ra neck chain when it fell into the crowd, during one of his recent performances.
The singer launched the search on Instagram, for the fan whose uncommon act has now become the talk of town. In a post which has since amassed tens of thousands of views, Kiss Daniel showed the heart-touching scene where the fan return the luxury chain and asked his followers to find and tag the noble fan. He stated that he has “something for him.”

if you want to be kissed. There is no moment when your intentions may be better aligned with the nature of the event than the last second of the last minute of a year. No one will fault you for desire on December 31. Someone comes through, generally. It is a night that gives want its chance.
f you've come to this page, trying to figure out how to get a kiss on New Year's Eve, then let me say it's simple: Announce your need. Tell everyone in the room:
But if you have actually settled on this page to learn how kiss, generally, thinking I'm going to do a four-step instructional guide to kissing, let me reward your Googling heart. I am not saying all kisses are great, nor that all kissers know what they are doing. But these guidelines will help. With time comes mastery, and its many rewards.

1. Be sure you have lips. Use them.

Maybe you think everybody does. But I've known a particular kind of kiss that was all dental work, teeth against teeth. And then, of course, the tongue, which in this case was no real thrill at all. That kiss kept getting thinner and harder until I began to feel we were after some sort of bone-crushing, science-fiction jaw lock right there under the street light. No lips, no give-and-take. A kiss demands a little surrender, yes. But there must be some resistance, too. That's what the lips are for.
Use your hands. Delicately. My girlfriend sometimes lays her hand flat on the side of my face when she kisses me. I like that. Or she spreads her fingers on the back of my neck. Very nice. Or locks her hands in mine. This is not distracting, and it isn't foreplay. Not always. It's dimensional. There's a lot going on, because of her hands, her fingertips. Hands open things up.

3. Don't steal kisses. Ask for them.

Just don't do it with words. Sure, there's a measure of permission involved, but it's not a verbal contract, kissing. A lot of people will tell you it's polite to ask. Maybe, if the situation calls for it. Other situations let you just take your shot. I trust you know the difference.

4. Be solid.

I once kissed a woman who told me the thing she liked about kissing men was that she could hang on their shoulders. She liked the implication of strength. That's the only thing I can tell you on that.
It occurs to me that you can't do anything until you can kiss properly. There are foods you won't know how to eat, words you won't know how to say, constellations you will not be able to name. Sexually, you won't know where to turn. I'm not even sure you can drive a car if you don't know what it is to kiss. So get it right. Luckily for you, the only authority you'll ever really need to consult is right there, pressed up against you, lip-to-lip. When you get it right, they will tell you, you will know, and maybe then someone will want to listen to your lessons.

final year Banking and Finance student of the Imo State University (IMSU), Miss Kelechi A Assumpta Ibeh, has been killed. She was shot dead by yet to be identified gunmen when she was marking her 23rd birthday.
A final year student of the Imo State University (IMSU), Miss Kelechi Assumpta Ibeh, marked her 23rd birthday in a big way last Thursday. It was her last.
The Banking and Finance student was shot dead by suspected secret cult members, who allegedly stormed her hostel where she held a party to mark the day.
The incident happened on Douglas Road in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
It was gathered that Kelechi was shot at  close range as she was about cutting her birthday cake. The motive for the killing has been a subject of controversy. Some speculated that she was targeted allegedly because of her boyfriend’s involvement in a deadly fight between two cult groups in the school.
Some eyewitnesses said the assailants were armed robbers. The late Kelechi was said to have been shot after she refused to submit her mobile phone to the assailants.
The Department of Banking and Finance was thrown into mourning when the news of her death broke. Her colleagues were shocked because the late Kelechi was said to have posted pictures of her birthday party on the social media moments before she was killed.
CAMPUSLIFE gathered that there was a fight between members of two cult groups on Douglas Road on Wednesday evening. It was learnt that members of a rival group returned to the area in search of their opponents, unleashing terror on residents and passersby.
Traders hurriedly closed their shops when the armed hoodlums moved to Nwaorie Lane, off Douglas Road, robbing residents at gun point. The hoodlums invaded Edede Street, beside Eastern Basic Nursery and Primary School, also on Douglas Road.
An eyewitness said the assailants pointed a gun at Kelechi, ordering her to submit all her valuables. But, the deceased was said to have refused to drop her phone.
The eyewitness said many of the party guests were injured as they ran for safety. The witness said the hoodlums used coded language, suggesting that they were cult members.
The late Kelechi’s family members were still in shock when CAMPUSLIFE visited them. Her elder brother, Stanley, who graduated from the Faculty of Humanities, said the family had reported the matter to the police.  The family, he said, wanted the perpetrators  brought to book.
Stanley cautioned people against  speculations about his sister’s death, urging them to wait for the police investigation. He said the funeral of the deceased had not been fixed, because “we are still in shock”.
Stanley said: “I am not supposed to be speaking to you (reporters), because we have not got over the shock of the death of my sister. We want people to stop speculating that she was having an affair with a cult member, which is why she was targeted. This is all lies. The fact is that, the true story around my sister’s death would be revealed and those who killed her will be brought to justice. She was supposed to graduate this year and some people who have no conscience picked guns, pulled the trigger and killed her on her 23rd birthday. It is painful.”
Some of her colleagues recalled how she encouraged them to read during the recently- concluded first semester examination.
“The late Kelechi was the one telling some of us to study hard for our first semester examination, because she didn’t want anyone to be delayed in school due to carryover. She read all through the night in preparation for the examination. She didn’t come to school for some days because she had been running around for her final year project,” her colleague, who gave her name as Chinyere, told CAMPUSLIFE.
President of the IMSU chapter of the National Association of Banking and Finance Students Victor Adiele said: “The news of the death of Kelechi hit us like a stray bullet. It is really a sad period for all graduating Banking and Finance students, our department and the university community at large. In tears and agony, we mourn the death of our colleague murdered by unknown gunmen.”
Victor said the late Kelechi could not have been the target of the assailants, noting that she was not known to be a troublemaker.
He said: “She was friendly and played with everyone. She was never known to be a troublemaker. We are still surprised why she became a victim of this gruesome murder.”
Stanley Nwakurume, her colleague, said he could have been at the birthday party but for his busy schedule on the fateful day. He described the late Kelechi as a “gentle soul”, saying her death should be atoned by bringing the assailants to justice.
The class representative, Obizuo Chibuzo Shedrack, said her colleagues had been in pain since the incident. he said: “To every one of us, it came as a mystery for her to die on her birthday. The most painful part is that, she died when she was about to graduate after four years in the university. It is a great loss to us.”
